A country estate, Welkinweir is nestled into a hillside of 224 permanently preserved acres in the heart of Chester County. The name is Old English for “sky water”. The National Historic Register-listed estate house, spanning three centuries, overlooks a 6-acre pond in a private valley, and is a fabulous backdrop for indoor/outdoor events for up to 150 guests.
The ruins of a stone bank barn, now filled with flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials, offers an intimate ceremony site. Stone walls, a springhouse, protected forests, abundant wildlife and a 55-acre arboretum paint a scene of incredible natural beauty and tranquility.
