Holiday Open House

Friday December 8th, 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday December 9th 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Celebrate the season and get ready to be inspired for your holidays! The circa 1750, 1830, and 1940 Welkinweir estate house will be decorated with greens from our collection of unique conifers, natural materials, and nature themed accents, all creatively arranged by local volunteers.

Friday evening, 6 p.m. Heading out for a night on the town? Start your evening here for our Candlelight Open House. The beautifully decorated rooms will be glowing with candles and twinkle lights while luminaires light up the outdoors. Enjoy wine & cheese. Suggested donation $20

On Saturday the arboretum will be open from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. Be sure to check out the American holly collection in full berries as well as the Pinetum, a collection of evergreens. Then stop by the estate house for an organ concert – doors open at 2 p.m. Suggested donation $5

Go Public Gardens

Be A Part of Something Greater – Be Indispensable!

Go Public Gardens is an ongoing, evergreen initiative of the  American Public Gardens Association to celebrate botanical & educational gardens, arboreta, conservatories, and historical landscapes throughout the country and invites communities to explore the beauty of public gardens while raising awareness of the important role public gardens play in promoting conservation, education, and environmental preservation. There is a common commitment of North American public gardens to engage & contribute to their communities, and to educate everyone about the importance of plant, soil, and water conservation practices.
