Located at the northeast corner of the property, the Chestnut Grove contains a collection of mature Chinese Chestnut (Castanea mollissima) trees planted by the Rodebaughs. It is also the site of a long-term research trial of American Chestnut hybrid seedlings, planted in 2014 in partnership with the American Chestnut Foundation and ArbNet to help in their endeavor to restore this iconic native tree to our landscape.
