The 140-mile Horse-Shoe Trail winds through scenic, forested hills, connecting Welkinweir to Warwick County Park, St. Peters Village, Crow’s Nest Preserve, and French Creek State Park to the north; Historic Yellow Springs to the immediate south; all the way to the trail’s beginning at Valley Forge National Historic Park. Additional loop trails offer countless opportunities to explore each of the parks and preserves you will encounter as you enter into the heart of the Hopewell Big Woods.

Historic Yellow Springs
Mineral-rich springs drew tourists to this village in the 18th and 19th centuries. The village was also the site of a military hospital and General George Washington’s headquarters during the American Revolution.
